Poetry of Stephanie Bennett Henry

Leave Her Be

Just leave her be. She’s not good for anyone until she cries it out, makes sense of the cracks, builds herself back up whole. Leave her alone. She will come back around when she’s ready to stand again, when she can smile bigger than the heartache, when she’s herself again, but better. Until then, just let her be alone. She’s a work in progress… and one day, she’ll be better than ever. Just not today.
