Poetry of Stephanie Bennett Henry

Dare You

You will come across people who crack your spirit with the hammer of their heart and then look at you as though you were never more than a rusty, worthless nail. The ones who make you feel everything and pretend it was nothing; keep walking. Dodge the other nails that fall like cards in your path, for those will soon rust over too. Keep walking. I dare you walk away like it was nothing at all and never look back. I dare you to disregard the hammer that cracked you into pieces and looked away like you broke on your own. I dare you not to give a shit like that, but harder. #stephaniebennetthenry #ragingrhetoric
